The best sunglasses for sport What kind of challenges do athletes face in practicing their favorite sport?

Many outdoor sports pose a variety of problems for us. Depending on the nature of exposure to solar radiation, the practice of sports at the highest level possible requires different types of sports sunglasses.
For example, the best running goggles provide protection from the sun without causing discomfort over time. Solar for skiing must also filter solar reverberation on the snow. The sunglasses provided for tennis or baseball should offer their wearer protection and a clear view while giving him the freedom to move quickly without the risk of losing them.

What vision challenges do you face when fishing?

Glare is the biggest problem facing the majority of fishermen. It is essential to be able to see deeply in the water column, to spot possible fish or to see who is approaching the gaff. Sometimes the mere sight of the thin reflection of a baitfish or a flapping fin determines the success of the exit. It is also useful to have quality polarized lenses, adapted to the type of water in which you fish; the high seas call gray and green polarized sunglasses, while freshwater calls for more orange or brown lenses.
Polarized Sunglasses
Eye safety is a must, as is the choice of shock-resistant materials such as polycarbonate and nylon. Hooks on lures and other sharp objects are constantly used. It is essential to ensure the protection of your eyes with glasses made of a suitable material. As with fishing, in many sports, there are not always emergency services nearby. Tuna fishing on the high seas sometimes distances us more than 100 miles from the nearest port. There is no doubt that wearing shock-resistant lenses, such as polycarbonate, eliminates or reduces the risk of injury.

What is your fishing experience with protective sunglasses?

A passionate fisherman for over thirty-five years, I have always considered polarized glasses as a must-have accessory, just like a reel, a cane, and all my equipment. It is essential to have a pair of sports polarized sunglasses for the sportfishing itself but also to navigate to and from the fishing area. Ten or a hundred miles on the high seas, there are always obstacles that can ruin the day. A clear view to help you spot and avoid floating debris, such as wood, or waterlines, can save you hours of delay and thousands of dollars in repair.

What are the qualities of the ideal pair of sunglasses designed for fishing?

The qualities I expect from a pair of sunscreens are durability, comfort, and clarity. I am very demanding in terms of frame and the same goes for glasses, because of the time I spend fishing and the intensity of my use. Both the frame and the lenses must withstand falling or any possible shock and weather conditions, which probably applies to the majority of high-quality sports sunglasses. It takes a frame and glasses light enough and comfortable to be worn all day. The lenses must be polarized in order to neutralize the brightness and obtain the necessary clarity.

Sports Glasses for a New Generation of Runners:

We started by studying and working hard to truly understand the demands of athletes. After much research, we realized that the manufacture of glasses at the moment could not evolve at the same pace as the needs of the athletes. In order to bring the glasses to a high level of performance, we understood that we had to change the way the glasses were made, starting with the glass itself. From scratch, we had to forget everything we knew about glasses and manufacturing to come up with this innovative concept. We wanted to blur the line between the frame and the glasses and we said to ourselves: what if the glass became the mount and vice versa? In our opinion, protection and performance are the watchwords of glasses.

Vincent Faivre of Arcier (NIKE Vision):

It took us more than 2 years, from the realization of the sketches to the final product. We had to rethink the look of the glasses. We had to forget everything we knew about glasses and manufacturing to be able to start from scratch and come up with this innovative concept. We did not even know at the time if we would be able to make the finished product.
We really focused on the glass that seemed to be the crux of the glasses at that time. We wanted to blur the demarcation lines between frames and glasses by asking ourselves: what if the glass became the mount and vice versa?
In our opinion, protection and performance are the watchwords of glasses. It was therefore essential for us to extend the glass surface as much as possible. We were able to achieve maximum coverage, allowing runners and other athletes to focus exclusively on achieving outstanding performance.

The clarity of the glasses, the coverage and the good weight ratio (eg their lightness) as well as the psychological aspect. We wanted runners and other athletes to feel like superheroes with these mounts on their noses to have a psychological advantage.
We also wanted runners to forget that they wore running glasses - transparency of glasses, the good weight distribution of the finished product and adjustment: together, these factors create frames perfectly suited to your face. Antifog treatment and maximum aeration also enter the equation. With NIKE Vision and ZEISS, nothing disturbs your race.
